Muffin Tin Monday's

Just when you thought that Easy Mac was the best thing to happen to lunch since Chief Boyardee a thing like Muffin Tin Mondays comes along. Instead of serving PB&J on a plate leftover’s and other tidbits rise to a whole new level by plating them in a muffin tin, many follow a theme or include fancy Japanese food picks, but in a pinch sliced fruit and a tooth pick seems to do the trick. You can find a new weekly theme along with dozens of interpretations at the mother of the muffin tin Monday’s blog Her Cup Overflowth or check out their flicker group. Either way this fantastic fun idea just might save lunch.

Under the sea

We went "deep sea fishing" for our Muffin Tin Monday. We had an afternoon snack for our "meal". Now, I am sure you can't find clams, starfish and plankton fishing in the deep sea- but we pretended it was so! Using our pretzels as "fishing rods", we dipped the rod in the peanut butter "bait" and then chose between "starfish", "blue clams", "plankton" (I called them shrimp, but the kids didn't like that) and fishies.

Long Neck Dino's

Contents: Carrots (because they are herbivores and eat plants), raisins (rocks to help digest their food), edamame (more plants), peanuts (more rocks), grapes (eggs), pretzels (twigs and branches) and shredded cheese (leaves on the ground)

The Giving Tree

Clockwise from top left corner: 1)Apple slices, for when Tree gives Boy all his apples to sell 2) Heart-shaped PB & J with initials in chocolate frosting, for when Boy carves his initials in the tree 3) Pita "wood" chips 4) Banana "Stumps" covered in brown sugar, for when Boy as an old man sits down on Tree's stump 5) Broccoli "Giving Trees" 6) Tree Sap Ranch Dressing (made with green food coloring)

Bitten by the Theater Bug

With a little help from Etsy artists you can light a spark in your own little thespian (that’s an actor folks). Sweetly funny these 1. Finger puppets, 2. Finger puppets are bound to have you and your kiddles giggling. Or unleash your inner monster super hero with these 3. Double Hand Puppets. The rich detail in the 4. Fascinating Shadow puppets is something you must check out and the seller has created kits for you to make your own. If the glittering blood dripping for his lower lip didn't get you the name 5. Sock zombie sure will. Again true of the 6. Gumball Monster And finally get the next generation of Jim Hansen fans started with the 7. Hyper hand puppet three personalities in one armless ball of fuzz!
